Connects applicants to volunteer dentists who provide dental care for extensive dental problems including prosthetics when necessary. Does not provide simple dental services if only a cleaning or checkup is required. Persons accepted into this program may go through the program one time only to ensure treatment for the maximum number of people.

Application process

Applicants on the waitlist will be interviewed by phone and will be asked to provide documentation of disability, income and expenses. Eligible applicants typically wait one-to-two years until contacted for intake, depending on county.
Eligibility
To be considered medically at risk, applicant must be able to provide documentation from a physician stating that patient cannot receive essential medical treatment due to their dental condition. Cannot have dental insurance that covers needed services. Applicants must also - Need major dental work - Be unable to pay for needed dental care - First exhaust all available options like community clinics or dental schools. Also must be one of the following: - Permanently disabled - Over age 65 - Medically fragile
