Eligibility
Only current owners and employees of physical book shops and comic shops are eligible to apply for grant consideration. Former Borders Books & Music employees are also eligible to apply for consideration if they were employed in 2011.

Provides financial assistance ONLY to current bookstore and comic book store employees, owners, and former Borders Books & Music employees experiencing severe hardship and/or emergency circumstances. Hardship grants are typically provided when store owners or employees experience hardship that is related to medical expenses, housing stability, disability, disaster, death in the household, or other unforeseen circumstances.
