Utility Tax Rebate offered by City of Federal Way

Residents of the city of Federal Way, ages 65 or older, and people with disabilities.   Must have had a disability for three or more months and disability must have prevented gainful employment. Must be at or under 50% of the Area Median Income. Utility service must be in applicant's name.   Save all utility bills for the calendar year.

Applications are accepted January 1 through April 30 each year.   Application forms are made available on website, at Federal Way City Hall or are mailed by request.   Applications available in Korean, Russian and Spanish.

Offers utility tax rebate to eligible low-income older adults and low-income people with disabilities in Federal Way.   Types of eligible utility bills include electric, gas, phone, garbage, cell phone and cable television.   Bills involving third party billing statements or Lakehaven Utility District are not accepted (because Lake Haven Utility District does not collect city tax).
