Handles traffic violations of municipal ordinances, criminal and gross misdemeanors within Seattle city limits and violations of Seattle Municipal code.

Interpreter services

Action is initiated when a complaint is filed by the prosecuting attorney or when a law enforcement officer files a citation with the court. Contact the court to be screened for a public defender. All out-of-custody criminal hearings may be attended virtually (by phone or online) or in person unless ordered to appear in person. Pay tickets online, by phone, or by mail.

Fines and copying fees vary.   The maximum penalty for a gross misdemeanor is 364 days in jail and a $5,000 fine. A transaction fee is applied for online and phone payments. Payment plans are available.
