Patients must be admitted by the Emergency Department.   Situations appropriate for ERIT involvement are - Suicide attempt or ideation - Substance abuse or overdose - Family altercations - Domestic violence - Psychotic, manic or bizarre behavior - Sexual assault   - Child abuse.
24 hours daily.

Offers in-person crisis intervention, emergency counseling, grief work and referral.   Psychiatric medications are not prescribed or dispensed through the Emergency Department.   Valley Medical Center DOES NOT have a psychiatric unit.
