Washington state residents who - Have income at or below 210% of the Federal Poverty Level AND - Are pregnant OR - Have had a pregnancy end in the last 12 months When calculating FPL, household includes the unborn child. For example, a single individual expecting one child is a 2-person household.

Description

Offers Apple Health insurance coverage to pregnant and newly parenting individuals who meet eligibility guidelines. Teens who want their pregnancy-related services to be kept confidential, may apply for coverage through a paper application process. Coverage will begin on the first day of the month in which the application was submitted and eligibility is approved.

Administers Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) and the subsidized children's health insurance program (CHIP). The Apple Health customer service center answers questions about eligibility, enrollment into managed care, and covered services, including mental health services. Coordinates the Washington Prescription Drug Program, which allows state residents to receive discounted prices on prescription drug purchases through a free drug card. Consults with veterans to help maximize their benefits.
