Transitional Housing for Homeless Veterans offered at Washington Veterans Home - Building 10
Offers a 60-bed transitional housing facility and services to help single homeless veterans return to a more traditional lifestyle. Services include: *Stable Housing - veterans in the program pay 30% of their income, meals are provided. *Case Management - veterans in the program work with case managers on an individualized plan with goals and accountability. *On-Site Chemical Dependency Services - veterans in the program have access to individual and group services, including AA and NA groups. *On-Site Mental Health Services - veterans in the program have access to indivudal group mental health services. May include life skills training and community volunteer work. *On-Site Job Center - veterans in the program have access to the job center including computers, internet access, fax, voicemail, and trainings provided by community providers. *Transportation - veterans in the program have access to van for case management related appointments.

From Tacoma: Take the Sedgewick exit from Highway 16, turn right on Sedgewick until you get to Jackson. Turn left on Jackson and continue until you get to the water. Turn left onto Beach Drive. About 200 yards on left will be the Veterans Home. Turn left and turn right at Building 9 sign. Come into the Building and go to Vet Service Center. From Bremerton: Take the Port Orchard exit (left lane on Highway 16) unto Bay Street. At second light, turn left onto Beach Drive. Continue until you see the sign for Veterans Home. Turn right up driveway to first right turn. Turn in and come into Building 9. Located on Kitsap Transit Route 9.

Rent is 30% of income.
Eligibility
Applicants must have served in any branch of the US Armed Forces and received an Honorable or General Under Honorable Conditions discharge. Must be clean and sober for at least 30 days with no history of violent or sexual offenses.

A state-of-the-art, non-institutional facility providing a "Resident Centered Care" concept that focuses resources around the individual resident. All primary services for a resident are available within a forty-bed "neighborhood." The Home serves more than 240 residents needing skilled-nursing level of care.
