Homeowner must own and have occupied the home for at least one year or be the owner of a single family rental property and renting to low- or moderate-income tenants. Property must be located within the Bellevue city limits and the owner or tenant must meet income guidelines.   Eligibility varies by program.

Bellevue, WA

Description

Provides zero-interest home repair loans to low- and moderate-income Bellevue homeowners. Deferred Payment Loan:   - No-interest loans are available for repairs relating to health and safety improvements.   - The maximum loan amount is $35,000 and does not have to be repaid until the homeowner moves or the home is sold.   Emergency Grant:   - Gives financial assistance to repair health and safety hazards needing immediate attention.   - The maximum grant is $1,500 and does not need to be repaid.   Weatherization Grant:   - Funds are offered in conjunction with Washington State's Energy Matchmaker Program. - Eligible repairs are restricted to insulation and heating systems.   - The maximum grant is $3,000 and does not need to be repaid.   Rental Rehabilitation Loan:   - No-interest loans are available for repairs relating to health and safety improvements to rental units.   - Loans can be made for single family rental property owners if the tenants meet the program's income requirements.   - Terms are the same for Leveraged Loans.   Leveraged Loan: - No-interest loans are available for repairs relating to health and safety improvements to moderate-income homeowners.   - The maximum loan amount is $17,500 and does not have to be repaid until the home is sold.   - Loans are matched dollar for dollar with homeowner contributions.   Grant programs hire contractors and vendors to complete repairs on behalf of homeowner; no grant money is given directly to client.
