Common repairs include the following:

-  Flooring repair or replacement 
-  Painting, interior and exterior 
-  Window repair or replacement 
-  Clutter removal 
-  Yard clean-up   
Local businesses provide material donations and work is completed by volunteers. 
Does not offer grants or loans.

Home Renovations offered by Rebuilding Together Seattle

Sponsors home repair work events where volunteers renovate the homes of low-income Seattle area homeowners who are veterans, seniors, living with disabilities or have children and are unable to perform the work themselves. *Currently have some limited funding for any applicant (not just veterans) at 80% AMI or below (call to verify if they are within the 50-80% range), limits can also be found on website.

Programs that provide assistance in the form of labor and supplies for people with disabilities who need to restructure their bathrooms in order to make bath, shower and toilet facilities accessible.

Bathroom Modification Services

Programs that provide labor and/or supplies for people who need to paint the interiors or exteriors of their homes as part of routine, ongoing maintenance.

House Painting

Programs that provide assistance in the form of labor and supplies for people with disabilities who need to modify multilevel homes or homes that have entrances preceded by steps in order to make them accessible by installing sloping walkways which transcend the levels.

Ramp Construction Services

Programs that offer the services of individuals who install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures; and ensure that work is accomplished in accordance with relevant codes.

Electrician Services

Programs that provide a variety of minor home repair services for homeowners who qualify. Specific services vary by organization but include such things as fixing leaky pipes and faucets; clearing clogged drains; replacing broken switches, sockets and electrical fixtures; changing light bulbs; fixing or replacing door locks and handles; replacing broken screen doors or window panes; installing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and changing batteries; making minor repairs on stair treads; replacing carpet threshold strips; and replacing furnace filters.

General Minor Home Repair Programs

Programs that provide assistance in the form of labor and supplies for people with disabilities who need to restructure their kitchens to make cupboards, counters, appliances and other kitchen structures accessible.

Kitchen Modification Services

Programs that offer the services of individuals who unclog drains, fix drippy faucets, replace fixtures, clean and freshen garbage disposals, repair frozen pipes and remove mineral buildup, and perform other routine maintenance tasks.

Plumbing Maintenance/Repair

Programs that provide assistance in the form of labor and supplies for people who need to make major repairs to their homes or upgrade/replace entire systems to eliminate health and safety hazards (such as gas leaks, outdated or hazardous electrical wiring and plumbing) or to improve their security e.g., by installing fences or fixing/replacing broken doors or windows. Typical services include major roofing repair and/or replacement; electrical and plumbing upgrades or repairs; septic system improvements; heating and air conditioning system repairs; flooring, tile or wall repairs; and interior and exterior painting that is part of the home rehabilitation process. Most programs do not handle minor repairs. Age, income, disability, need or other eligibility requirements may apply.

Home Rehabilitation Services

Programs that pay for or provide leaf raking, lawn care (including mowing, hedging and weeding) and general yard cleanup services (including trash and other debris removal) for people who need or want assistance.

General Yard Work

Programs that provide assistance in the form of labor and supplies for people with disabilities who need to modify their home environments to make them accessible and which evaluate the situation on a case-by-case basis rather than having pre-established policies regarding the type of modification they are able to accommodate.
