Provides conventional low-income public housing throughout the city of Seattle. 
Housing is offered in designated high-rises, townhouses and garden communities, all owned by the Seattle Housing Authority and subsidized by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  
Long waiting lists exist for all programs; does not offer emergency housing.

Low Income Public Housing offered by Seattle Housing Authority

Provides conventional public housing throughout the city of Seattle, in designated high-rises, townhouses and garden communities owned by the Seattle Housing Authority; serves low-income households.

City, county, or state housing offices that provide information about eligibility for and vacancies in the subsidized housing properties that are under their jurisdiction. Housing authorities accept Section 8 applications, provide Section 8 vouchers, make approved Section 8 rental payments and administer public housing communities while in certain rural areas, the housing finance agency may play this role.

Housing Authorities

Housing developments or scattered single family dwellings that are owned and managed by local housing authorities and rented to income and program eligible individuals and families, including older adults and people with disabilities. The units are governed by federal regulations which determine the application process, eligibility requirements, and tenant payment and lease obligations. Eligible households pay approximately 30% of their adjusted gross income for rent.

Public Housing

Provides subsidized rental housing for eligible households, at several properties throughout Renton.  Some buildings are reserved specifically for seniors and/or adults with disabilities.

Low Income Public Housing offered at Renton Housing Authority

Waitlist Closed as of March 15, 2018. Offers subsidized and market rate housing throughout Renton for low-income households, with specific units for low-income older adults and individuals with disabilities.

Programs that maintain information about retirement residences, residential care facilities and nursing homes, and link older adults who are looking for alternative living options with appropriate independent or supervised living resources.
