Commercial Airline Tickets
Provides charitable, need-based commercial airline assistance for patients and one medically-necessary escort.
The patient must:
- Be able to sit on their own once they are in the seat.
- Require little or no medical attention.
- Be able to transfer out of their wheelchair into their seat on the aircraft with little or no assistance (they cannot have someone literally pick them up and sit them in the seat).
- If the patient requires oxygen, some airlines may provide it during the flight. Otherwise, the patient must have a portable oxygen concentrator (POC) approved by the FAA or the airlines. Commercial airlines require no less than 48 hours advance notice to prepare for the equipment needed. The patient is responsible for making these arrangements and paying any travel fees associated with the oxygen.
Ground Transportation
Patients are provided with gas cards, or commercial bus or Amtrak tickets to medically related treatment. These trips are for non-local medical care more than 50 miles away. Gas cards are also available for multiple trips to local treatment.

Night Stop
Riders may ask the bus driver to stop at any point along the bus route between 8pm-5am. Riders should go to the front of the bus and request this service at least a block ahead of the desired drop off point. Decision to stop is at the driver's discretion and may be declined for safety reasons. Drivers will only pick up at established bus stops. For safety purposes, riders using wheelchairs will only be dropped off at wheelchair lift-approved bus stops.

Home Free Program offered by National Runaway Safeline
Provides free Greyhound bus tickets to runaways returning home. Serves youth ages 12-20. A runaway report must have been filed for youth who are ages 18 and younger.
In partnership with Greyhound Lines, Inc., NRS helps reunite qualified runaway youth ages 12-21 with their families, or alternate living arrangement through a free bus ticket home. Youth must call 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) to start the process.
Must be between the ages of 12 and 21 and be returning to a parent, guardian, approved caregiver, or shelter or transitional living program. Conference call between the youth and person they are returning to is required as well as basic documentation (ID or equivalent, etc.). Youth 15 and under may require an approved adult to accompany them (if so, a free ticket for the accompanying adult is provided). Home Free can only be used in the United States.
Offers access to immediate help and safety for youth ages 12-17 in crisis. A youth may call the hotline or visit a facility displaying the Safe Place sign to request help, such as reconnecting with a parent/guardian or finding shelter.
Safe Place Coordinators provide 24 hour a day, seven days a week, on call, in person and over the phone support to vulnerable youth, ages 12-17. Youth adults, ages 18-24, are referred to Willows Youth Services Center.
Safe Place works closely with existing emergency youth shelter providers including Friends of Youth, YouthCare and Cocoon House.

Arranges volunteer transportation to essential healthcare appointments for adults ages 60+ with limited transportation options. Trips must be scheduled the Tuesday prior to any appointments the following week. Dependent on driver availability.

Financial assistance to help stay housed, gain or retain employment, support educational goals leading to employment, or meet basic needs. Intended for emergent or one-time situations.
The Resource Access Team is a multifunctional customer service team within the Department of Community and Human Services that will serve as a centralized information and resource referral system, making it easier for residents of King County to access the services they need. The Resource Access Team aims to help residents connect to resources, navigate services, or bridge short-term financial gaps.
The Resource Access Team may provide financial assistance to King County residents to help them gain or retain employment, support educational goals leading to employment, or meet basic needs, including but not limited to food, healthcare, shelter, childcare, transportation and safety. Resource Access Financial Assistance is intended for emergent or one-time situations and not intended for recurrent or regular needs.
The Resource Access Team does not provide rental assistance.

Matches volunteers to provide companionship, light housework, and other simple chores.

Drivers are able to wait until appointment is over for return trip.
Phone Buddies provide older adults with support through a weekly phone call.

All volunteers are carefully screened with three references and a Washington State Patrol background check.
