Vehicle Tab Renewal/Replacement
 -  Tabs can be renewed online or a vehicle licensing office 
-  They can be renewed up to six months before they expire
   
Vehicle Registration 
-  New Washington state residents have 30 days to register their vehicle after they move to the state.  
-  Residents who buy or get a vehicle as a gift have 15 days to transfer the ownership. 
 Disabled Parking Permits 
-  Permanent placards are renewed every five years. 
Renewal reminders are mailed prior to the expiration of the placard.  
-  A temporary parking placard will be issued for the time period indicated by the physician (for up to 12 months) and is not renewable. 
If the disability persists, a new application is required.   
-  Disabled American Veterans are eligible for free vehicle licensing for one vehicle per year. 
The veteran must have an honorable discharge or a medical discharge w/ an honorable record and their disability must be 100% service-related.

Vehicle & Boat Licensing & Registration offered at King County Records and Licensing Services
Offers licenses for taxicabs and for-hire vehicles for residents of unincorporated King County and contracted cities.
Supports consumer protection and public safety through licensing and regulation of vehicles, vessels, taxicabs, for-hire drivers, and hobby kennels.  
The Licensing section has two primary work groups:  
1. Taxi, For-hire and Transportation Network Companies (TNC) licensing:  
  Provides regulatory oversight and enforcement services over for -hire transportation industry which includes: 
-  Taxicabs (metered vehicles) 
-  For-hire- Flat rate (non-metered vehicles) 
-  TNC vehicles (Uber, Lyft, Wingz, etc. ) operating via smart phone applications  
2. Vehicle and Vessel Licensing:  
-  Issues vehicle and vessel certificates of ownership and registration 
-  Issues vehicle license number plates and vessel decals 
-  Collects licensing fees, excise taxes and other fees through a delegation of authority (contract) by the Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL)
