Provides transportation in emergency situations, including child abuse and domestic violence. Offers crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence, and assists them in locating shelter. Handles runaway cases and incidents of abuse and neglect.   Community Service Officers are the unarmed section of the police department; they will not respond to situations involving weapons or violent behavior.

Helps find and reconnect community members with loved ones around the world after natural disasters, war, civil unrest or other international catastrophes. Also links family members with detainees, POWs and internally displaced persons and can assist families who were separated during the Holocaust, WWII and its aftermath (1933-1957).

Helps find missing and runaway children. Distributes photos of missing children to the media, companies and corporations. Offers a toll-free hotline and step-by-step counseling for searching parents. Resolves incidents of parental abduction through mediation. Also coordinates nationwide networking with law enforcement, state clearinghouse personnel, social service agencies and missing children agencies.

Operates a phone line which allows Seattle residents to contact police about non-emergency matters such as:   -  Nuisance reporting -  Crimes that did not just occur -  Suspicious activity -  Fireworks violations -  Graffiti on your property -  ID theft   -  Knowledge that would help a police investigation    Also performs welfare checks.
