Helps veterans who are receiving WA Apple Health (Medicaid) obtain veteran benefits they are entitled to.   Veterans receiving WA Apple Health (Medicaid) and their families may also qualify for federal benefits such as:   -  Pensions or Compensation -  Medical coverage -  Prescription drugs -  Medical devices -  Family Benefits Using federal benefits may give veterans more benefits, save them money, improve their health care and protect their family's assets.

Provides a coaching service for family and friends of veterans who see that a veteran in their life needs help. Coaching involves helping the caller figure out how to motivate the veteran to seek services and explains the process of enrolling in VA care if veteran is eligible. Licensed clinical social workers and psychologists help the veteran and family members find the appropriate services in their community.

Provides a service officer who appears before the Veterans Administration rating board and assists the client in obtaining rightful benefits.  Use of the officer can substantially minimize the time required for processing.  Service officers also assist veterans with disabilities in preparing claims for service connected compensation, hospitalization, occupational training, education, insurance, or other benefits.  No assistance is available for Social Security claims.

The UW Veterans Clinic engages student attorneys in direct, continuous pro bono representation of King County veterans in benefit claims appeals, discharge upgrade representation, and other advocacy and legal consultations. The UW Clinical Law Program has a 45-year history of service to communities in need, including providing individual legal services and representation to veterans and support to organizations that represent or assist veterans.

Hosts a legal clinic specifically designed to address the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and couples. This clinic is run by QLaw Foundation in partnership with the King County Bar Association. The clinic is open to everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. At the clinic, an attorney will meet with clients for 30 minutes and provide individualized legal advice and information. Clinic attorneys will answer questions and provide information in a variety of areas including family law, immigration, debt and bankruptcy, divorce/dissolution, employment discrimination, and transgender legal issues.
