Summer Academy offered at Atlantic Street Center's Youth and Family Center
Five-week summer school program provides academic and social enrichment for elementary school students who are performing below grade level.
For five week summer curriculum consisting of reading, writing, math, and cultural enrichment activities for children entering grades 4th through 8th.
Students who attend Summer Academy receive:
-Free breakfast and lunch
-Lessons, including STEAM-related courses, taught by Certified Teachers in a small classroom setting
-Opportunities to learn activities such as theater, painting, dance, and how to start a business
-Field trips to places like MoPOP, iFly, the Museum of Flight, and Equine Escapes to go horseback riding
-Extra coursework help from hired tutors
-A moving-on ceremony and celebration

Helps prepare low-income Seattle youth for post-secondary education through tutoring and leadership development. Offered in 9th & 10th grades at Garfield or Rainier Beach high schools. Must be first in family to finish college.
Helps prepare low-income and/or first-generation Seattle high school youth for post-secondary education through academic instruction and tutoring, academic and personal counseling, life skills and leadership development, career exploration and planning, college application assistance, financial aid workshops and college tours. Also requires a six-week summer academic program at Seattle University with high school credit available.
