Support Service Provider Program offered by Deaf-Blind Service Center
Provides human guides, called Support Service Providers, to give visual and environmental information to people who are both deaf and blind for help with errands, recreational activities and other activities. Is not an interpreter service.
Provides sighted guides to give visual information as needed to assist people who are Deaf-Blind with everyday activities such errands and recreational activities.
This service also has a professional side (PSSP) related to more formal situations, such as going to the court house, conferences, etc.
Sighted guides do not interpret.
The emphasis of SSP work is on visual and environmental (not verbal) information.

Volunteer Medical and Social Transportation offered by Eastside Friends of Seniors
Volunteer Medical and Social Transportation offered by Eastside Friends of Seniors
Provides free transportation through volunteers to adults 60 and older, for errands such as grocery shopping and medical appointments.
Volunteers drive seniors to essential destinations for:
- Health services
- Grocery shopping
- To prevent social isolation
As volunteers are available, destinations may also include:
- Beauty or barber shop
- Recreation or socialization beyond what is necessary to prevent social isolation
- Errands such as post-office, bank, attorney, veterinarian, gym.
If necessary, volunteers provide door-through-the-door service and may also provide escort service for errands/shopping as needed (to help those with visual impairments navigate through the supermarket, for example). Transportation to appointments outside the greater Issaquah/Sammamish may be limited.
