Supports the well-being of families by providing a culturally-tailored early-childhood home visiting program for urban Native American and Alaskan Native children and caregivers in King County.   Provides classes to help teach parents about child development and building a supportive parenting community.

Provides at-home education and resources for young immigrant/refugee children to support their growth before entering kindergarten. The two-year program focuses on developing essential early literacy skills, including teaching children how to read in English, while empowering parents to become their child’s first teacher. Offers bi-weekly home visits and educational materials to foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

Provides site-based literacy, academic support and family advocacy for three Highline-area apartment complexes operated by King County Housing Authority.   Services include Kaleidoscope Play and Learn groups, after-school programming and summer programming.

Offers programs to support and educate pregnant women and mothers of children up to 2 years of age. Programs include: Bebes! HOPE (Healthy Outcomes, Prevention and Education): A center-based case management program offering support, referral and resources Bebes! BSK (Best Start for Kids): A home visiting program twice a month, resources, referral and support for pregnant women and parents with children up to two years of age ParentChild+ Program: A home visiting program with 30 minute visits twice a week, helps prepare children for school, supports parents and offers free books and toys to enhance learning for children 18-30 months; Growing and Learning Together (PAT): A twice a month home visiting program for pregnant women or with infants and toddlers, not attending a child development center. Includes educational workshops and at home visits for individualized help.

Uses two leading intervention models - Promoting First Relationships (PFR) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) - that research has shown to be effective in helping parents understand and regulate their child’s behavior, build a strong and stable relationship with their child, and ensure that their child is meeting key developmental milestones. These services offer parents the opportunity to build and support social and emotional skills in themselves and their young child that lay the foundation for a healthy and successful life.

Friends of Youth's Healthy Start program service provides home visiting for pregnant and/or parenting families with children younger than six. Home visitors provide a safe space and meet families while they are at while providing basic supplies, parenting support and information, group activities, development and health screenings, and referral to community resources. Program serves families across east King County.

Offers a home-based school readiness, early literacy and parenting program for low-income families of children ages 16-48 months. Activities focus on supporting parent-child relationships and learning through play. Families are enrolled in the program for two years and receive a home visit twice per week.

Offers parenting education, including Kaleidoscope Play and Learn parent/child activity groups. Other classes include: - Toddler Gym - CPR for infants/adults - Life Skills - Cooking and Nutrition - K-12 Tutoring. Offers support groups and workshops for Latino families.  Facilitates support groups to increase family's social support and decrease family isolation.   Also offers family advocacy, application assistance along with information and referral to a variety of other services.

Provides a research-based, research-validated early childhood literacy and school readiness program that strengthens families and prepares children for academic success through intensive home visiting. Provides home visits to parents with children age 2 and 3 to model the types of conversations and activities that will help children be ready to succeed in school.  Participating families are assigned a home visitor who will visit with them for 30 minutes twice a week, for at least 23 weeks in a year, on a schedule convenient for the parents.

Offers a 10-month program that provides information, resources and supports for families with children who may have or suspected of having special healthcare needs or developmental delays. Services include parent training classes, home visits and individualized family support plans.

Parents as Teachers Partners with parents to support their child’s growth and development. Twice-monthly visits focus on learning through play, understanding the stages of child development, helping through the inevitable challenges of parenting, and supporting overall family well-being. Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Also offers weekly, bi-lingual playgroups. Parent Cafe's Playgroups include open play time, art projects, structured movement or song time, stories, parent support/coaching, and time to connect with other adults. Welcome Baby Boxes Gives parents essential supplies for their new babies. The baby box includes a sleep sack, washcloths, a Vashon onesie, and a hand-made quilt, along with parenting books and a Thriftway gift card. Clothing, diapers and some baby supplies are also available.

Supports families in helping their young children reach certain educational milestones ahead of preschool. Through our partnership with ParentChild+, we pair families and toddlers with Early Learning Specialists who visit twice a week for up to two years. These visits help children learn skills to help them prepare for school and give parents tactics they can use every day to be their own child’s teacher. Early Learning Specialists also bring participants free books and toys that the child can keep.

Through home visits, case managers increase parent knowledge of early childhood development, improves parenting practices and increase children’s school readiness and success. Provides early detection of developmental delays and health issues. Uses the Parents as Teachers and the Parent Child+ models. Provides a kindergarten readiness program that helps parents close the achievement gap and give students a boost in the classroom setting.
