Provides a public "opt-in" alert system that keeps residents informed about potential widespread emergencies, such as severe weather, health risks, major transportation disruptions and terrorist activities. Registration is free.

Programs that issue bulletins or otherwise inform the public of orders or advisories issued by local authorities to evacuate an area in preparation for a major fire, flood, hurricane, tornado, tsunami or other impending event which has the potential to cause loss of life, personal injury, property destruction or damage and wide-spread community disruption. Information generally includes evacuation zones and routes, pickup sites, the time frame for evacuation and details about the impending event.
