Helps military service members and their families who run into unexpected financial difficulties as a result of deployment or other hardships directly related to military service.
Assists with basic life needs and unanticipated financial needs such as:
- Mortgage and rent
- Car payment
- Home and auto repairs
- Insurance
- Utilities
- Food
- Clothing.
The financial assistance is in the form of up to $1,500 in grants that do not need to be repaid.
All grants are paid directly to the "creditor" (such as the electric company), and not to the individual.
Each case is reviewed individually and acceptance determined by a committee.
Applicants can receive funds only once every 18 months, and only twice total.
Second requests for assistance must be caused by a new situation and deployment.

SNAP Produce Match offered by Washington State Department of Health's Fruit and Vegetable Incentive Program
Provides coupons at participating stores, typically Safeways, who are paying with their EBT card and who purchase at least $10 worth of qualifying fruits and vegetables. All fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables with no added salt, fat, or sugar are eligible for earning and redeeming.
Provides a coupon for customers who use SNAP/EBT cards to purchase fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables without added fats, sugars, salt at participating grocery stores.
SNAP/EBT customers receive a $10 coupon that must also be spend on fruits and vegetables. Coupons are available at select grocery stores and through online shopping.
