Oversees the basic education curriculum for the Seattle Public School district.   Elementary schools emphasize language arts, reading, arts, science, and math.   Middle schools provide a transition to high schools.   Middle school students may choose exploratory programs or electives in a variety of areas from art to computers.   Many middle schools also offer intervention classes and learning labs for students needing extra help.   All high schools provide a wide range of electives and most have specialties in particular areas.   Graduation requirements include a cumulative 2. 0 or above Grade Point Average (GPA), and a 2. 0 or above cumulative GPA in all courses in English/Language Arts/Mathematics/Social Studies/Science and exit standards and service learning requirements.   There are 95 school sites in Seattle.

Provides basic education which includes a full regular curriculum as well as athletic, activity and remedial programs.   Also provides meals at free or reduced prices for eligible students.   Vashon Youth & Family Services offers a before- and after-school program for elementary students at Chautauqua Elementary School.

Student learning objectives are pre-set in all grade levels. English as a Second Language (ESL), also called English Language Learners (ELL), classes are available and a program to assist with core subjects can be arranged.   Vocational Education is offered at each high school, with courses in business and office occupations, vocational industrial arts, trade and industry, marketing, and vocational agriculture.

Basic education is provided at three elementary schools, one middle school and one senior high school. Student-teacher ratio is 18:1.   Offers remedial reading program which consists of individually-designed courses for students who are two or more years behind in their reading skills.   Also has a gifted education program, including honors and advanced placement English in high school and an integrated program in middle and elementary school.

Operates the public school district for Enumclaw and Black Diamond. District provides basic education, vocational education and classes for gifted and special needs students. Offers Basic Education programs at five elementary, two middle schools and one high school. The district currently emphasizes keeping class sizes small at the elementary level. Highly Capable program offers self-contained and pull-out classes at the elementary levels and advanced classes in the middle schools and high school. Special Education services are offered at all schools, ranging from inclusion in the regular program to special resource rooms. When the needs of the student cannot be met in the school system, the district will contract for services with other districts. Career and Technical Education programs are offered in the following areas: Agriculture Sciences, Business and Marketing, Family and Consumer Sciences, Health Sciences Courses, STEM, Skilled and Technical Trades.

Administers basic education programs for children through the Lake Washington School District.   Classes meet at 33 elementary schools, 14 middle schools and nine high schools.   Coordinates academic and psychological testing services to aid in the assessment and placement of students.
