Programs that offer visual acuity tests for the purpose of identifying individuals who have an impaired ability to see that may require further examination.

Vision Screening

Programs that pay the optometric or ophthalmologic bills of people who are unable to obtain necessary eye care without assistance. Eye care bill payment assistance programs may have age, income, disability, need or other eligibility requirements.

Eye Care Expense Assistance

Programs that conduct a series of tests which measure an individual's visual acuity, identify refractive errors that cause poor vision and check for eye diseases such as glaucoma; and prescribe corrective lenses in situations where there are vision problems. Eye examinations are offered by optometrists and ophthalmologists and are usually available through mobile eye clinics.

Provides emergency financial assistance to musicians and recording industry professionals in times of need.  
Assistance grants may be applied to medical and dental expenses, such as doctor/dentist/hospital bills, prescriptions, addiction recovery treatment, psychotherapy and treatment for chronic illnesses.  
Assistance may also be provided for emergency rent and utility payments.  
Also provides addiction recovery services and support and referrals to other appropriate agencies.

Recovery & Emergency Financial Assistance for Musicians offered at MusiCares Foundation

Provides financial assistance and addiction recovery services for musicians and others with at least five years professional experience in the music industry or credited contribution to six commercially released recordings or videos.

Programs that make rental payments for people who are at risk of eviction without assistance. Also included are rent supplement programs that provide assistance with ongoing monthly rental costs. Rent payment assistance programs may have age, income, disability, need or other eligibility requirements.

Programs that provide financial assistance to purchase necessary prescription drugs for people who would be in an emergency situation without assistance. Also included are programs that reimburse individuals for their prescription expenses, usually on an annual basis. Prescription expense assistance programs may have age, income, disability, need or other eligibility requirements.

Programs that pay all or a portion of the gas service expenses of people whose gas has been or is at risk of being shut off including any reconnection fees that may apply. Also included are non-emergency programs like those funded through the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), also referred to as LIEAP or HEAP in some states, that provide home energy assistance, generally in the form of a credit, for low-income households that apply. The assistance is usually available once per calendar year (or heating season). Gas service payment assistance programs may have age, income, disability, need or other eligibility requirements.

Programs that maintain information about community resources that are appropriate for a specific target group or human services sector (for example, youth programs or addiction services) and which link individuals who are in need of specialized services with appropriate resources and/or which provide information about community agencies and organizations that offer specialized services.

Programs that pay all or a portion of sewer service expenses of people who are unable to pay their bills in communities where sewer services are billed separately from water services. Sewer service payment assistance programs may have age, income, disability, need or other eligibility requirements.

Programs that provide financial assistance that helps individuals who have a designated health condition or disability or require an operation such as a transplant pay for non-medical but related expenses, which may include travel expenses to and from treatment, home or housing costs, child care expenses or other related costs. Incidental medical expense assistance programs may have age, income, disability, need or other eligibility requirements.

Programs that provide cash grants or loans for people who are in the process of acquiring rental housing and who can handle the monthly rental payments, but who do not have the assets to pay the first month's rent, in some cases, the last month's rent, and any security deposits required to move in.

Programs that provide cash, vouchers or other forms of monetary aid for people in need of assistance and evaluate the individual's or family's need for the money on a case-by-case basis rather than having pre-established policies regarding the types of needs the dollars can be used to cover.

Undesignated Temporary Financial Assistance

Programs that pay the dental bills of people who are unable to obtain necessary dental care without assistance. Also included are programs that provide vouchers which enable eligible individuals to obtain dental care. Dental bill payment assistance programs may have age, income, disability, need or other eligibility requirements.

Dental Care Expense Assistance

Programs that pay all or a portion of the home heating fuel expenses of people who are unable to purchase the resources to heat their homes without assistance. Also included are non-emergency programs like those funded through the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), also referred to as LIEAP or HEAP in some states, that provide home energy assistance for low-income households that apply, usually once per calendar year; and programs that pay for firewood, propane, butane, kerosene, coal or other bulk fuels that are used for heating or cooking purposes in situations where people have no other means of acquiring them. Heating fuel payment assistance programs may have age, income, disability, need or other eligibility requirements.

Programs that pay the hospital bills, doctor bills, laboratory expenses or other health care expenses of people who are unable to obtain necessary health care without assistance. Also included are programs that provide vouchers which enable eligible individuals to obtain medical care. Programs that pay all or a portion of the water service expenses of people whose water has been or is as risk of being shut off including any reconnection fees that may apply. Included are programs that provide assistance with combined water/sewer bills in communities where sewer payments are bundled with payments for water services. Water service payment assistance programs may have age, income, disability, need or other eligibility requirements.

Programs that pay all or a portion of the electric service expenses of people whose electricity has been or is at risk of being shut off including any reconnection fees that may apply. Also included are non-emergency programs like those funded through the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), also referred to as LIEAP or HEAP in some states, that provide home energy assistance, generally in the form of a credit, for low-income households that apply. Provides vouchers for free eye exams and glasses to those who are unhoused and/or low income in King County and Snohomish County.

Programs that pay for or provide corrective lenses for people who have defective but correctable vision, with or without a prescription, or which provide vouchers which can be exchanged for glasses or contact lenses.
