Power Hour matches kids with tutors during an organized homework period and provides a study space.  Computer access and basic computer skills tutoring is available.  Middle and high school students have their own teen space.   Also offers Project Learn, a homework assistance and tutorial program.  Facilitates interactive work and computer learning center activities to enhance skill levels in collaboration with area schools.  Opportunities for STEM-based activities like chess, Lego Robotics and coding are offered along with quiet reading.

Offers a wide range of enriching activities for youth.   Programs for children focus on sports, teamwork and individual skills. Programs for young adults help develop life skills, including: accounting, computer skills, financial planning, foreign languages, grant writing, photography, programming, web design and writing.

Provides a 3-week online job readiness course, combined with one-on-one job placement assistance. Program covers job readiness skills, 30-second commercials, revamping resumes, networking, interviewing, communication skills, online applications, Microsoft Office skills, soft skills and more.

Supports comprehensive employment and training activities while helping clients get the trainings and certifications needed to build a sustainable career, including: -Job counseling -Academic counseling and assistance -Referrals and placement -Support with applications to government benefit programs, such as unemployment and SNAP -Employment-related training Training/Education Incentive:  Individuals entering an accredited college or vocational school program may be eligible for tuition assistance.  Proof of registration and paid fees will be required.    Referrals:  Staff may provide referrals to apprenticeship programs and help clients with job searches.   Support Services:  Upon completing the Workforce Readiness class and finding employment, clients may be eligible for supportive services at the discretion of the Director of the Employment and Training Department.  These services may include: -  Transportation allowance -  Food allowance -  Shoes   -  Work clothing (if required by employer) -  Other reasonable job-related expenses   Summer Youth Employment Experience:  Limited number of work experience positions are available during the summer months to eligible high school students.  Interested parties should contact the WIA office in January for more information. Offers an enrichment program for students currently in grades K-8. Classes are intended to provide intellectually ambitious students with challenge, inspiration and fun, in a collaborative, supportive learning environment. They are not intended to move students ahead in the standard curriculum but rather to explore topics not usually covered in the K-8 classroom.    Classes meet for 50 minutes per week on Saturdays on the UW campus, for eight sessions each quarter; no Saturday Program in the summer. There will be no homework, though optional activities may be provided for outside of class.

Offers a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students can thrive academically through personalized assistance, targeted literacy development, diverse enrichment activities, and access to technology. Beyond academics, the program promotes social-emotional well-being and life skills through a variety of recreational indoor and outdoor activities, including amateur sports teams such as basketball, flag football, and soccer. These team-based sports provide opportunities for youth to build teamwork, leadership, and resilience while staying active and engaged. Additionally, field trips and enrichment groups further support personal growth and foster a sense of community and belonging. During the summer, the Summer Splash program combats the "summer slide" by reinforcing literacy and math skills to help students maintain and improve their academic performance. Also partners with the Kent School District to provide free summer lunches for youth under 18 at all three program locations. The program operates at three King County Housing Authority sites. Each community recreation center features computer labs, activity rooms, teen spaces, and a variety of recreational and educational programming to create a well-rounded experience. Students also receive healthy snacks to stay energized and focused. The program focuses on key life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and resilience, while fostering both soft and durable skills. With the guidance of positive adult role models, youth are empowered to overcome challenges, build confidence, and succeed academically and personally.

Operates a computer lab with internet access, printing and several software suites for LGBTQ youth. Lab is supervised by trained volunteers.

Offers STEM programming in the High Point community for teens to increase the desire and connection to STEM career fields, while building a sense of community and social skills in teens. This is an after-school, youth development program supported by mentors from the University of Washington.

Services for all job seekers: - Job postings, a job bank with computers, resume assistance, phones and fax machine, open computer lab - Resume, cover letter, interview skills and technology workshops - Job fairs, hiring events, employer panels and industry forums - Full service Learning Center operated by Renton Technical College offering ESL, Adult Basic Education, GED and the High School 21+ diploma program. Employment workshops include the following classes: - Computer Assisted Job Search: Provides tools and assistance to conduct an effective job search. This includes setting up an email account, learning where to apply online, completing an online application, converting a resume to text only, posting a resume online and learning about career exploration tools. Basic computer skills are required. - Beginning Internet: Teaches how to use the Internet for job search purposes. No computer experience necessary, however Keyboarding and Mouse class highly encouraged as a prerequisite. - Beginning PC Skills: Computer tutorial to help gain speed and confidence on a computer. Will teach how to manipulate a computer and create a document, as well as how to improve typing speed. All levels are welcome. - Mock Interview: Teaches valuable interviewing tips and provides the opportunity to practice frequently in a supportive and realistic environment. - Resume Critique: Provides resume critique and assistance from an employment specialist. Must have an electronic version of your resume, either on a flash drive or within/attached to an email. Must have two job descriptions of jobs you wish to apply to. Limit 8 people per workshop. - Resume & Cover Letters: Teaches how to write a compelling cover letter and resume. Basic computer skills and/or typing experience preferred. - Women's Worth & Rights in the Workplace: Provides tips and tools for effectively evaluating your worth and negotiation power. Will also cover local, state and federal labor standards and what to do when your rights at work are violated. - Interview Skills: Practice responding to typical interview questions and begin the necessary preparation to ace a job interview.
