The Clinic is a teaching facility, and all services are provided by student counselors and therapists who are supervised by licensed psychologists and mental health counselors. This commonly occurs during an appointment with the primary care provider. Works with the patient to create an effective treatment plan that takes into account the patient's unique traditions and cultural practices. Helps the patient implement previous skills, learn new skills, and make changes to become well. If treatment requires medication, treatment team will either obtain recommendations from or refer to a specialist with advanced expertise. The behavioral health provider works jointly with patients, primary care providers and other health care team members to evaluate and treat any health concerns affected by behavior.

Offers culturally specific mental health services for refugees and immigrants. Provides case management services as well as individual, family and group counseling. Offers treatment and support for those experiencing stress, depression, and anxiety associated with displacement and the effects of acculturation.  

Provides nine to 15 hours weekly of structured programming and therapeutic support designed specifically for women and adolescent girls facing significant anxiety and depression. Services are rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and include group therapy, individual therapy, family support and medication management. Each patient is individually assessed by DBT trained providers and reviewed by a board certified psychiatrist to determine the appropriate level of care. Clients may also participate in daily yoga, recreational therapy, art therapy, life skills and planning groups, tutoring and vocational support and meals.

The City University Counseling Center is a telehealth-only facility staffed by supervised graduate students from the Master of Arts in Counseling program. Offering individual, couples, and group counseling, it supports counselors-in-training as they build practical skills. Sessions are recorded for training purposes. While the center does not provide psychiatric care, assessments, case management, or crisis services, it can coordinate with external providers as needed.
