Library Services offered by King County Library System
Lends materials and offers young adults/children's services as well as voter registration forms at all branches, which are located throughout King County outside the city of Seattle. May also be used as warming or cooling centers during extreme weather.
Lending of Materials: King County Library System (KCLS) has over 4 million items, 60+ online databases, government documents and reference material, and multilingual resources.
Offers Inter-Library Loans through reciprocal use agreements with several other county library systems.
Material loans can also be procured from libraries throughout the U. S. and in other countries.
Programs and Exhibits:
Free programs include musical and dramatic performances, programs relating to job search and writing skills, book groups, investments, parenting and much more.
Other activities include author visits and computer classes.
Speakers are available for presentations on a variety of topics relating to library services.
Young Adult and Children's Services:
Specially trained librarians select material and develop programs for children and teenagers.
Offers story times, puppet shows, family nights, classes, summer reading program and video gaming programs for teens.
Offers specialized children's and teen pages on the website.
Complete, current schedule of story times is also available on the website or call the Answer Line at (425) 462-9600.
The Answer Line: Provides quick answers (calls are limited to 5 minutes) to questions over the telephone.
Subjects include loaned items fines, directory assistance, grammar inquiries and questions pertaining to business, the arts, medicine, government, sports, hard-to-find homework questions and current events.
If unable to answer the question, the line will refer callers to other resources.
Staff can also renew and reserve library materials.
Computer Access:
Offers access to the Internet via branch terminals.
Locations may also offer opportunities to use other software for resumes, newsletters and spreadsheets, as well as hardware such as printers and scanners.
Provides educational software for children.
Voter registration forms are available at all community libraries.
Services available may vary slightly from branch to branch.

Printed materials may be available by request in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Marathi, Punjabi, Persian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

Computer Help offered at Elizabeth Gregory Home
Provides one-on-one computer help for women ages 18 and older; no kids. Offers basic computer skills training, resume writing and job and housing search assistance. Pets allowed.

Among all locations of The Seattle Public Library, 400 programs are offered per month, as publicized on the Library website calendar.

- Facilities for children and adults with mental, physical or emotional disabilities
- Day care centers
- Senior centers
Home service is set up on a regularly-scheduled basis for homebound individuals with an illness of six months duration or longer.
Books-by-mail service is available for people who meet the criteria for home service.

Drop-In Day Center offered by YWCA Seattle King Snohomish Angeline's Center for Homeless Women
Provides drop-in day services for homeless and low-income women; no children. Offers hygiene facilities, laundry and showers, health care and mental health counseling, access to phones and computers, and daily meals.
